More Flexibility with Vacation
Staff vacation rules need to be a bit more flexible. There's no control to change pre-chosen dates as life changes, it's too rigid. (It seems that there needs to be an extreme situation such as death or injury for one to change their vacation dates?). One example is when someone books vacation based on their current rotation and then they take a new position. They should be able to completely re-do their vacation request to align with their new rotation. HR currently says that they must stay within the same date range that they first chose. This makes no sense for most rotations and creates a dictatorship style of leadership. It forces staff to use up more vacation than they needed to for a holiday. This is an area that could be improved and would have a big impact on staff happiness and culture. Small things like this can make a difference in retention and recruitment.
